DAY 1 ARRIVAL MARRAKECH - OUERZAZATE
Once arrived, you will find our driver and guide who will escort to the car, our direction will be the High Atlas through the de Tizi'n tichka Pass (2260 m.) Along a mountainious road full of small villages and waterfalls. Tiz'n Tichka means in the local language "neck pastures" and the path is particularly impressive, with a landscape that constantly and a succession of colors that makes it even more dramatic changes. A stop for mint tea gives you the opportunity to savor the beauty of the environment, before arriving at the Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, where we stop for lunch. This village built entirely of adobe, namely straw and mud, was included in the World Heritage List of UNESCO. It is also very popular with Hollywood has chosen for filming international movies such as Gladiator, Babel, Lawrence of Arabia, and many more. Then we go back to Ouarzazate before continuing our journey to the valley of a thousand Kasbah, Dinner and overnight in Ouerzazate.
DAY 2 OUERZAZATE – MERZOUGA
After breakfast, there would be a walk in the Dades Gorge, we will then take the car to travel the road of a thousand Kasbah, through the village of Tineghier with its Jewish quarter, to reach the Todra in time for with a stop for lunch. A walking tour in the grooves will discover the beauty of the surroundings before continuing his journey through the desert of Merzouga. We arrive in time to leave the car and go by camel, to reach the foot of the dunes of Erg Chebbi, to spend the night in an exclusive tented camp in the well-equipped camp where you could take a typical dinner at the rate of Berber drums and chants. With a little luck, if the weather permits, you will be able to see the Milky Way in the sky.
DAY 3 MERZOUGA – SKOURA
Wake up in sunrise like nomads, after breakfast, start your trip to a visit to Rissani, the old Sijilmassa, the economic capital of Morocco where the caravans used to depart through the desert and where it still holds a market known in particular for the sale of medicines, donkeys and Berbers. Here you also find many traditional kasbahs and other buildings. For lunch, you will experience directly the hospitality of the locals. A Tuareg family opens the doors of his modest home for us to taste the Berber pizza with its 44 spices. Soon after, we will head back to Rissani, this time from a different direction from the first leg, passing through the village of N'Kob and the valley of the Draa. We will then make a stop for tea and a visit to Agdez. Dinner and overnight in your hotel.
DAY 4 SKOURA - MARRAKECH
Skoura is a magical oasis lined with intense amount of palm grove, the contrast of the Atlas mountains and the desert canscape is fascinating. Known for growing roses and so the scenic views and scents in this town is mesmirising. The palm groves were built by the 12th century Almohad sultan Yacoub el-Mansour and named after its natives, the people of the Haskourene tribe. Many of the most amazing Kasbahs in Morocco can be found in Skoura and the region. After having lunch in a typical southern restaurant, we head for to the town of Skoura, known for its big market on Mondays. After a delicious cup of mint tea, we head in the direction of Ouarzazate. You can see the Kasbah of Taourirt and the Atlas Studios if you haven’t had the time on day 2, the largest and most famous film studios in all of Africa. From here, you can stop at the oasis of Fint, a few kilometres from Ouarzazate. We then continue on the road of Tizin'Tichka stopping for lunch in a small village. We will arrive in Marrakech in the late evening. Dinner and overnight at your hotel.
DAY 5 MARRAKECH DEPARTURE
Seems like your holiday is over and we definitely will expect you again for a grand tour of our beautiful Morocco. Depending on your flight, we will escort you to the airport on time and wish you a safe flight back home.
